I was watching CSI: New York tonight and came across this activity featured in the programme. Not knowing whether or not it was part of the drama I googled it. Whaddayaknow, as they might say in New York, the Annual Blessing of the Bicycles really exists!
It takes place in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City and the priests there offer it as a ’service’ (every pun intended) to the cycling community of the city. Apparently cycling in NYC takes all the divine intervention one can muster.
