Lest we forget

Tell me what you think of this idea? I’m planning to set a little part of the church garden aside as a Remembrance Garden for the week leading up to 11 November. I thought it might be a helpful for people in the town who have lost loved ones especially those in the armed forces to have an opportunity to honour the fallen. We’re going to make crosses available at the church and they’ll be able to write names on the cross and plant the cross in the garden the week running up to Remembrance Sunday. Then on Remembrance Sunday they come to church collect their cross and bring the cross into the service where we give thanks to God for all the names written on the crosses.

So tell me what do you think? Is it the kind of thing people out their might go for?

What about the idea of every elder visits their district with a cross and we explain the idea, I believe not only the old but the young will really be on board with this idea.

Good idea. I’m going to be collecting the crosses from Edinburgh this afternoon. I’ll have them at Church on Sunday. I need a group of folk to help organise the church garden to receive the crosses.
