Remembrance Sunday

November 9th, 2008 by italker

Today is Remembrance Sunday here in the UK. We showed the clip below while the wreath was being laid at the war memorial inside the church. There is something about Winston Churchill’s voice that is so inspirational even after all these years.
REMEMBRANCE
Those of you who have been following the story relating to the Remembrance Garden will be interested to know that we had an excellent turn out at church today. I’m sure that many people who attended were encouraged to re-connect with Remembrance because of the opportunity they had this week to place a cross in the Garden. I’m sure we had nearly 100 crosses placed. There was an opportunity to bring the crosses into church this morning and then place the crosses at the the front of the church. Towards the end of the service, the worshippers where invited to come to the front and take a different cross and plant it in their garden or plant pot at home. In doing this we were encouraging everyone to take someone elses cross and realise that we can share each others burdens

I’m interested to hear some of your comments relating to the worship today. If you were at church why not post your thoughts.
