Meeting the Need

July 6th, 2009 by italker

streetboys-wsiTonight we had our India group committee meeting. It was an opportunity to try and disburse some the funds we’ve been gathering for the Indian Projects. There is just so much work to be carried out and not enough resources to go round. I’ve chosen this picture to describe how I felt tonight. So much work to be done and so many opportunities to help but just mot enough money to go round. I took a picture of these street boys the last time I was in India. The best they could do was to window shop.

So I guess I felt a bit like that tonight. We have just heard that the Sangita Orphanage are seeking to complete their building programme to house 85 children despite the fact that some of their American donors have withdrawn their support due to the credit crunch.

The last I heard was that they were around £50,000 short now on construction costs. this is such a fine piece of work.  I pray that God will help us find ways to support this work and perhaps help them recoup this £50,000 shortfall.
